Northern Water Snake Basking on Log Multiple Items Pinback Button

I found two Northern Water Snakes sunning on logs in a pond. These snakes are considered cranky (I agree), and can give you a bite. They have needle-like teeth that make it possible for them to grab and hold prey – small fish, grogs, for instance – but they are not venomous. People mistake them for Cottonmouth Water Moccasins and kill them. LIVE AND LET LIVE! These animals have an important place in the environment and will run from people before they confront them. If you see one, consider yourself fortunate and appreciate them from a distance; approach too close and they will normally flee.
