Dysautonomia is a disabling condition of the autonomic nervous system (the portion that controls all of the bodily functions that do not require conscious thought). Currently, there is no cure. Daily activities take monumental effort, meaning that clothing is often the last thing on the mind of the sufferers. Comfort, however, is essential! Therefore, any comfortable clothing becomes the daily "uniform" for the patients. This debilitating illness also comes with a harsh dose of reality, and it can be quite difficult to find the humor in anything; but it is essential to be able to find what little humor exists in the condition itself.
