Image shows a portion of the Cushing Oil Field looking toward the southwest; Creek County, Oklahoma, December 2, 1915. Cushing Field was discovered in 1912 by Tom Slick. By 1915, according to AAPG, Cushing Field was supplying 17% of the oil consumed in the United States. Cushing Field helped power the allies during World War I. Photograph used for this product was taken by AE Fath. Digital editing of AE Fath's photo was performed by Geology Works.
