For most of my life, I walked with God at my side. Then my wife dumped me for our plumber, and in desperation I went for a walk on the beach. After walking for about half an hour, I stepped on an oyster. It hurt, and I stopped to rub my toe. I looked behind me, and I saw that there was only one set of footprints in the sand. "Where are you now that I need you, God?" I asked. "Hey," he answered. "This sand is really hot today. You're on your own."
