The Virgin of Vladimir, also known as Vladimir Mother of God, Our Lady of Vladimir (Russian: Влади́мирская ико́на Бо́жией Ма́тери, Ukrainian: Вишгородська ікона Божої Матері, Arabic: عذراء فلاديمير), and the Theotokos of Vladimir (Greek: Θεοτόκος του Βλαντίμιρ), is a 12th-century Byzantine icon depicting the Virgin and Child and an early example of the Eleusa iconographic type. It is one of the most culturally significant and celebrated pieces of art in Russian history. Many consider it a national palladium with several miracles of historical importance to Russia being attributed to the icon. Following its near destruction in the thirteenth century, the work has been restored at least five times.

I bought this as a wedding gift for my fiancé. His brother passed away six years ago and cannot attend our wedding this July. My fiancé is heartbroken over this and I needed a way to include his brother. Since I chose a bouquet charm to remember my grandfather I knew I needed something just right for him. I searched the internet up and down with zero luck! I couldn’t give up and I came across this listing. My heart exploded with joy! He is going to love these so much. I showed my sister in law and my Matron of Honor and they both agreed he will truly be touched. I thank this shop so so much for creating this for me!! I plan to give him these in private before our rehearsal dinner on July 11, 2019. I can’t thank this shop/creator enough. The picture came out very clear. However, the printing “always by your side” is a little blurry. I’m not concerned about the blurry text because to me this gift is priceless. Highly recommend!

This was a wonderful addition to my husband’s tux and provided a piece of his father at our wedding. This was excellent quality. The handle piece broke from the picture side when it was dropped but it was perfect for our wedding and we will still keep it forever. .
