Out of Control" For good or bad, Hawaii is a conquered nation. The illegal overthrow of Hawaii's monarchy by the United States in 1893 is still a topic of hot debate here. This image is a deviant comment on the western dominance of native people by force during that era. It captures a couple of American pirate ghost celebrating their long ago victory on a moonlit Halloween night. It seems to me that not much has changed and "might still makes right". This photo is part of my Lahaina Ghost pirate collection done in 1984 using a organic time lapse technique that I developed. It was ground breaking in 1984. This is a direct scan of the original transparency and is not a double exposure.
