P-80 Shooting Star, Fighter Jet Aircraft Sticker
The P-80 Shooting Star, also known as the Lockheed P-80, was the first jet fighter used operationally by the U.S. Air Force. Developed by Lockheed and introduced in the late 1940s, the P-80 was designed for high-speed performance and included features such as a straight wing and a turbojet engine. It was primarily used in the early years of the Cold War for air superiority missions, and while it was quickly overshadowed by more advanced jet fighters, it played a crucial role in the transition from piston-engine aircraft to jet-powered aviation. The P-80 also saw limited combat during the Korean War and was eventually succeeded by more advanced aircraft such as the F-86 Sabre.
