October, 1975 when the population of Penguin reached 3,000. It stands over 2 metres tall and is a popular tourist attraction. Penguin is a town on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Australia. It is in the Central Coast Council local government area and on the Bass Highway, between Burnie and Ulverstone.
