Perpetua and Felicity Necklace

This icon is of Saints Perpetua and Felicity (Felicitas) who were martyred in 203 CE and rumored to have been a couple. The two women refused to give up their faith and raised a child while imprisoned for their beliefs before being martyred. As with all of the Queer Saints collection, saints are depicted with halos adorned with a rainbow, a respectful way of depicting their potential or confirmed orientation and honoring that their orientation informed their Christian living. Not all saints in the Queer Saints or Saints Queerly Made collections are canonized in any church, while some are considered saints in one denomination but not others.
