Late afternoon sun illuminates the desert landscape in this panoramic color photograph of Petrified Forest National Park near Holbrook, Arizona. Clumps of desert grass and an interwoven zigzag pattern of coarse reddish and fine taupe sands in the foreground lead your eye to a striated hill on the upper right of the frame.
