Photomontage Calendar - A Patchwork of Images

A collection of photo-montages for 2014 by Penny Alexander. She explains: "The common theme in my work is Man’s involvement in his environment. I express my concerns by creating completely new and exciting images digitally. I find inspiration in a wealth of old photographs that I recycle, combining them with new images, and carefully arranging them in intricate layers. Just as in the origins of traditional patchwork, I create something beautiful from pre-loved items: in my case using photographs and a computer instead of fabric and a needle. The introduction into my imaginary landscapes of a figure from an old snapshot, not only gives new meaning to that photograph, but lends depth and mystery to the new. I am a New Media Artist. I work with pixels. Since 2008 I have been exploring enthusiastically the new medium whilst developing my own style.
