Story Behind the Design Sometimes the best ideas don’t come from long nights staring at sketchbooks, gallons of coffee, or “creative vision boards.” Sometimes they come from staring at your license plate in a grocery store parking lot and thinking: “Why does this look like it should be on a t-shirt?” That’s literally what happened. Instead of going the usual route with the 503 slapped across the chest or trying to cram the outline of Oregon into the letter “O” for the 4,000th time, we thought: nah. Let’s keep it simple. Let’s keep it loud. Let’s keep it so obvious it almost feels rebellious. TD23 PDX. No fuss, no gimmicks, just a design that screams Oregon and Portland in one breath. Like if Mount Hood had its own hype sticker. The humor here is that this shirt might actually outshine real plates. You’ll probably get double-takes from strangers who wonder if your chest is registered with the DMV. (It’s not. Yet.) So yeah — that’s how our first branded shirt was born. Out of a plate, a laugh, and the realization that sometimes “simple and direct” is the loudest statement of all.
