Platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) Flip Flops

Platypuses are monotremes, which are distinguished from all other mammals because they lay eggs, but still suckle their young. They detect their prey by electroreceptors located in their duck like bill. When diving they close their eyes and their ears. Their webbed claws are used for swimming but also help to dig burrows in the banks of creeks and rivers. They are one of the few venomous mammals, as the male has a poisonous spur on their rear foot.
