Polaroid SX-70 Photo Light Painting #1 Poster
Light Painting #1 is another in a series of photo manipulations I made during the 1980's with an instant film camera. I would find a light source; Christmas lights, neon signs, fireworks etc., open the shutter and move the camera and viola we have a light painting. In this case we have as a source one of those little spinning holographic discs. Then some digital riffs off the original picture. The indistinctness of the images along with the bright colors against the black background gave me the idea to call them photo noirs. My name is Mike Beyer and I'm an image collector, stationary and in motion. During the late 1970's & 80's I took thousands of these instant photos. There are a few hundred left and I've been converting the images into digital bits. Now I'm turning them into posters, post cards and other items here on Zazzle. I was given a small budget to decorate a free clinic. I ordered many of the posters from Zazzle because I could select various sizes that fit frames we could re-purpose. The quality of the printing is fine and there's a wide selection of subjects and styles to choose from. The paper quality on most of the items I ordered was decent. For some reason, though, the Ibis poster on "Perfect Poster (Glossy Finish)" is on very flimsy paper. It'll look fine when framed, but I would upgrade the paper choice if I did this over again. The image quality, colors, and printing quality were fine -exactly what I expected.

I love this calendar! The colors are rich and beautiful and the weight of the paper is perfect. It's not too thin. I hung it with a bit of double-sided tape and it lays flat to the wall. It looks great in my kitchen. It's perfect. The printing is bright and the colors are perfect.
