Pony Soldier Motel Sign, Tucumcari, N.M. Poster

Pony Soldier Motel Sign, Tucumcari, N.M. Poster

The sign for the Pony Soldier Motel stands tall against a bright blue New Mexico sky, even though the motel was torn down in 2010. When the motel was still open, the blank sign at the bottom read: "Here we are on Route U.S. 66." The Pony Soldier Motel was one of the many motels along Route 66 in Tucumcari, New Mexico, which was a popular stop for cross-country travelers on Route 66, now Highway I-40. Though the Pony Soldier no longer offers its "High Plains Hospitality," many historic motels remain open along the old Route 66, offering a delightful vintage experience. Old U.S. Route 66 runs through the heart of Tucumcari via Route 66 Boulevard, which was previously known as Tucumcari Boulevard from 1970 to 2003 and as Gaynell Avenue before that time. Numerous businesses, including gasoline service stations, restaurants and motels, were constructed to accommodate tourists as they traveled through on the Mother Road. A large number of the vintage motels and restaurants built in the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s are still in business despite intense competition from newer chain motels and restaurants in the vicinity of Interstate 40, which passes through the city's outskirts on the south. Tucumcari is the largest city on the highway between Amarillo, Texas and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Billboards reading "TUCUMCARI TONITE!" placed along I-40 for many miles to the east and west of the town invite motorists to stay the night in one of Tucumcari's "2000" (later changed to "1200") motel rooms. The "TUCUMCARI TONITE!" campaign was abandoned in favor of a campaign which declared Tucumcari, "Gateway to the West". However, on June 24, 2008, Tucumcari's Lodgers Tax Advisory Board, the group responsible for the billboards, voted to return to the previous slogan.

I was so amazed at how this all turned out. Everyone who attended the funeral was in awe of how beautiful it was made. And I owe it all to Zazzle. I wouldn’t have done it better myself not to mention I wouldnt have time to do it. The great part of it all was they had templates that was catered to my needs and that I could use it in ways I wanted to use to resize it my way. It took some time but I was happy it turned out great. I did 100 photos, 89, 66 photos (I think) lol templates. The only suggestion is that the templates, before sending through would tell you of errors like; saying please revise or resize it again for any photos that is not perfectly well sitting or not show it’s cutting off some of them and where it tells you there’s duplicates. Staring, placing and resizing all 100 + pictures into the template can be tiresome and overwhelming and it makes my eyes blurred that I can’t tell if they’re cutting off or overlapping or duplicates. Overall I am very pleased and will be using Zazzle again should the need arises. Thank you Zazzle. Altogether I’ve done 3 collages 1 profile picture and couple pictures with 1 frame and yet this is my first time ordering as a 1 time customer. Prices were very reasonable and accommodating to my finances. .

Fun bright artwork that really captures the mood I’m going for! Pop art with cyberpunk energy. A little sweet but also spicy. This art is the perfect size and vibe for our art gallery wall. The printing looks great, high quality with vibrant colors! I went with the semi-gloss finish, which adds a little extra shine and thickness to the print making it excellent for high-traffic areas like the staircase wall.
