This design features a painting by the Italian artist Giovanni Boldini (1842–1931), who lived and worked in Paris, France, for most of his artistic career. It is a portrait of the famous composer Giuseppe Verdi (1813–1901), who is renowned for his work in helping to bring an extremely high degree of artistry into Italian opera. He is dressed like a traditional 19th-century gentleman, with a top hat and elegant coat. The original artwork was painted in 1886.
