This is a portrait of Princess Alexandra (b.1844 – d.1925) that was commissioned by her mother-in-law Queen Victoria in 1863.
Originally Queen Victoria wanted her favorite artist Franz Xaver Winterhalte (1805 - 1873) to do the portrait, but he was of ill health and she instead gave the commission to Richard Lauchert (1823 - 1869)
This image is a retouch and enhanced version of the original painting with warmer tones and increased brightness and contrast done by Xzendor7
