Portuguese Sweet Bread Trivet
Home-baked bread is one of the most inviting, welcoming and appreciated things you can offer. I painted this watercolor from a photo my husband took of Portuguese Sweet Bread I'd baked and cooled just enough to slice. The breadboard made of several woods was a gift from a friend and the butter crock hand made by a loved uncle in New Zealand. I trust that at least an echo of all the care and love that are the history of this little still life will be there to warm and cheer anyone who receives it as a gift or sees it in your home.
