The No Mas Niños en Jualas Hex Sign, inspired by the classic Distlefink, features the national birds of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras as they escape confinement to reunite with the loving hearts of their families. The southern border of the United States is plagued with child detention centers – concentration camps for minor refugees who arrived in the U.S. alone or were separated from their parents by U.S. Immigration personnel. The majority of these children are refugees escaping horrific poverty and violence in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and other Central American countries. On arriving here, they find themselves detained in deplorable conditions and unable to reunite with family members. Demand no more children in cages. Celebrate compassion and freedom! Hex Signs are a part of Pennsylvania Dutch tradition, but more recently they have been used as talismans for protection, manifestation and magic.
