Ps 46:10 Be Still and Know Hummingbird Throw Pillow

The hummingbird is one of God's most beautiful but tiny creatures! They symbolize intelligence, beauty, devotion and love. They are known as fierce fighters and loyal defenders of their territory. The smallest ones, when they hover, have been clocked at 80 beats (wing-flaps) per SECOND. It takes immense energy for them to seemingly sit still in the air -- but they do it with grace and beauty. This Psalm, "Be still, and know that I am God" (Ps 46:10) makes me think of them -- sometimes we, too, are moving "a million miles an hour", caught up in the busy-ness of our lives, and it takes tremendous effort to "be still" -- but this is the alert, active "stillness" that God asks for. In the midst of the craziness, calm yourself with the knowledge that all is in His hands, and He's got this!
