Psalm 25:4 – Make Me to Know Thy Ways Invitation

A traditional Catholic Scripture greeting card inspired by Psalm 25:4, presented here from the Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition: “Make me to know thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.” ✝ ✝ ✝ The Psalmist’s words are a humble prayer for divine guidance, asking God to reveal the right path and teach the soul to follow it. The image approaches this passage through a quiet moment of reflection in an ordinary medieval Christian household rather than literal Biblical narrative. Jan, a farmer in early fifteenth-century Silesia, crouches beside the hearth in his timber home, tending the fire as its warm light falls across his face and hands. His work has paused for a moment, leaving him alone with his thoughts in the stillness of the dwelling. ✝ ✝ ✝ The hearth was the center of domestic life, providing warmth, light, and a place for the household to gather. Here, its modest flame illuminates a moment of solitude and contemplation. Jan’s bowed head and quiet attention suggest the inward search expressed by the Psalmist—not a demand for certainty, but a willingness to be taught. The scene recalls the place of prayer and reflection within ordinary Christian life, where even the simplest moments of rest may become occasions to seek God's guidance. ✝ ✝ ✝ Psalm 25:4 (RSVCE) “Make me to know thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.” ✝ ✝ ✝ Created by Faith and Verse in a traditional sacred-art style. ✝ ✝ ✝ Discover more sacred art, Scripture, and Christian history at faithandverse.art.
