On February 12, 2017, Senior Advisor to the then-President Trump, Stephen Miller, said on Face The Nation, "[T]he powers of the President to protect our country are very substantial and will not be questioned," echoing the argument that the US government lawyer made to, and which was rejected by, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in connection with the first Muslim Travel Ban case. Seven years later, just a few days before the Fourth of July, the Supreme Court made the office of the presidency a dictator, a despot who cannot be held accountable, a king. Question authority, including that of the President of the United States, no matter who it is, every day.
