In 1947, during the creation of the 1st Colonial Demonstration Commandos Parachutists, Colonel MASSU decided to create a badge of common arm to all the paras colonial. Units are asked to submit various projects. Colonel MASSU chooses the "dragon" (the project was designed by a non-commissioned officer). At first, we said "dragon", maybe because the dragon is the mythological animal of Vietnam and then we were in the middle of the Indochina war. The play of words was quickly found and one spoke with humor of the "Rabbit with GILLES" that one associated with the chimera. The colors of the latter are, by tradition, the same as those of the "Pegase" worn on the sleeve by SAS paratroopers; ie blue on amaranth background.

My 11 yo wore adult XL (5’7” 165#). The 8yo is small framed. She wore adult small and tied it in the back. Dark haired male wore adult large and 5’9”, 110# female wore adult medium . Good quality dark Heather gray, Gildan brand shirt. -it was next up from basic choice and cost about $20 per shirt. Not too thick or thin. Washed and dried well, no major shrinkage. Not see-through. Can wear a bra under it fine. Screen print is just as shown and well done, front and back.
