There is a 2012 election looming, and I think something (or rather a lot of things) are very wrong. From my perspective, the most important issue about the election is that it should be about liberty - your. America has a proud legacy, one founded with a government designed to maximize the liberty of the citizens and minimize the power of the government. That legacy, our great inheritance, appears all but over. No government ever can be perfect if created and implemented by us. And our government was never perfect, but even a cursory reflection back in history suggests that it has been the most effective government in the history of the world. The Constitution was created out of the chaos of the Revolutionary war. On one hand the founding fathers had just removed rule of King George. On the other hand, their loosely-coupled government had quickly proven insufficient. The Constitution was the result. It gave more powers to the federal government, but only a short list of powers. All other powers were reserved for states, localities, and the individuals. It is sad, but most people that I have encountered have a very limited interest - and so understanding - about the history of the United States. So when this - or any other - election comes, remember: do not vote for the guy promising to give you the most stuff. In order for the government to give you anything they must have the power to take it from someone else. That might seem great, but eventually the people running the government will have the power to take what they want from you. It was created in Adobe Photoshop CS5.5.
