Republic Steel bought and converted three ocean-going troopship-freighters for use as fast Great Lakes ore boats. Here are Tom M. Girdler, Thomas F. Patton and Charles M. White in the colors of Cleveland-Cliffs Steamship Co., which took over the the Republic hauling contract for the last part of the "Triplets'" careers.

The shirt is good quality and fits just fine, but the colors of the printing are not as bright as in the sample photo. Not the best. The colors are a lot brighter in the sample photo; when I received the shirt they appeared faded. The red looks a little more pink and the blue is a lot lighter. N.B. I did not wash the shirt yet.
