Rhodesian Ridgeback, Art Deco Dog Postcard

Rhodesian Ridgeback, Art Deco Dog Postcard Ready for an expedition, a wheaten Rhodesian Ridgeback stands above the Mediterranean in a khaki safari shirt with epaulets and buttoned pockets. His soft folded ears and steady amber gaze give him a calm, capable presence. Sailboats glide across the bay and cypress trees line the cliffs toward a temple behind him, as if he has stopped on the coast between grand adventures. That adventurous spirit guides the whole design. The Ridgeback's short wheaten coat and strong features are rendered in warm faceted planes against a radiant ringed sunburst. The khaki field shirt adds rugged character, and a stepped gold frame rises around him like the entrance of a 1920s explorers' club. A turquoise bay and soft clouds meet polished gold, deep emerald, black lacquer, and ruby red. Emerald-marble panels, stepped geometric rails, gold fan crowns at the top and bottom, and a gold paw-print medallion in every corner frame the scene, while the black RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK title plaque, lettered in gold across two stacked lines, completes the luxurious Art Deco presentation. Rather than a blank back, the reverse keeps the Riviera theme going. A warm ivory writing field leaves plenty of room for a note inside a gold, black, emerald, and ruby frame with a gold paw-print medallion in every corner, and a golden dog in a jeweled paw collar rests on a sunlit terrace above the Mediterranean, where cypress, temples, and sailboats catch the sunset. The paw-crested Art Deco Postcard Collection emblem, address lines, and stamp box round out the design. • Wheaten Rhodesian Ridgeback wearing a khaki safari shirt above a Mediterranean bay • Radiant Art Deco sunburst, buttoned pockets, and epaulets • Gold paw-print corner medallions, emerald marble, and ruby accents • Illustrated Mediterranean back with ivory message field, address lines, and stamp box • Part of the Art Deco Postcard Collection
