Poor Marie…she suffered such misfortune. She was accused of being wasteful, promiscuous and even having illegitimate children. You can say that it was definitely a man’s world in the 1700’s. The poor Marie was made to marry at the ripe old age of 14 and then executed when she was only 37. She just couldn’t win.
