Rousse (La Toilette) by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, oil on canvas 1889, is a painting of a young woman seated on the floor of the artist studio, her back to the viewer. Lautrec paints the scene in a tilted perspective with powerful, sculptural modeling of the figure reminiscent of similar paintings by the older Impressionist Degas, and the bright red hair of the model is typical of the many paintings of women that Lautrec executed through his brief career.
