Rural America Red Barn Jigsaw Puzzle
This beautiful red barn is from an old farm in Georgia, in the Southern USA.
Many barns in rural America are red because farmers used to add ferrous oxide (rust powder) to an old paint recipe of linseed oil, which gave barns a deep orange-red color. The ferrous oxide accentuated the redness to a burnt red tone. Nowadays, to follow the tradition, even new barns are painted red, though with a brighter color more akin to fire engine red.

The puzzle was ok. The pieces were really small and they don’t include a blueprint to use. Which would be fine if the photo on the front of the box was larger, but it’s also very small and not really useful for details. I don’t think I’d buy another one from Zazzle until they start providing at least some sort of reference photo. .
