Thanksgiving is the day America sets aside for remembrance to commemorate the harvest reaped by the Plymouth Colony after a harsh winter. The colonists celebrated it as a traditional English harvest feast. It should be noted that while Thanksgiving has become a holiday deeply associated with America, there have been numerous harvest, autumn, and thanksgiving festivals throughout history including Grecian, Roman and Egyptian celebrations.
