Rustic Raven On Inner Birch Bark Luggage Tag

A digital recreation of a simple Raven (Corvus corax) image formed by carefully scraping off the reddish outer surface on the reverse side of birchbark to reveal the lighter, yellowish layer beneath. This is a traditional craft among Native Americans/First Nations across the northern United States and Canada. Add your own text on the front and, of course, your name and contact info on the reverse side. I do not claim to be a Native artist. Having lived in the North much of my life I appreciate the many uses of the Birch (Betula spp.) and find the technique simulated on this image to be very beautiful.
