Sami, the People of Eight Seasons T-Shirt
This design is dedicated to the Sami people, the People of Eight Seasons. Their languages, traditional clothing, handicrafts, and music are distinctively different from other ethnic groups in Scandinavia. In Sweden there are some 44 native communities where the families derive most of their income from their caribou (reindeer), an economy that in most cases is combined with fishing, hunting, and crafts. A majority of the Sami population are obliged to pursue other careers, because there isn't enough space for everyone in a habitat that is constantly shrinking due to mining operations, clear-cutting of the forests, and the construction of hydroelectric power-plants. My 11 yo wore adult XL (5’7” 165#). The 8yo is small framed. She wore adult small and tied it in the back. Dark haired male wore adult large and 5’9”, 110# female wore adult medium . Good quality dark Heather gray, Gildan brand shirt. -it was next up from basic choice and cost about $20 per shirt. Not too thick or thin. Washed and dried well, no major shrinkage. Not see-through. Can wear a bra under it fine. Screen print is just as shown and well done, front and back.
