Three Crane Leather Wallet

The crest pattern of three cranes is called "Sanwa-tsuru" in Japanese. According to "Monzen", it is also known as "three cranes". The crested crane was stylized in Japanese heraldry. In both China and Japan, there is a legend that a Taoist immortal rides on a majestic red-crowned crane. As it is written, "The crane is perched on a pine branch, which is abundant..." (Shiki Monogatari), the contrast between the pine branch and the crane is depicted, and the crane is often paired with a tortoise, a symbol of longevity, on a decorative stand representing the island of Penglai.
