Santa Cruz Shave Ice was founded by two sisters who traveled to Hawaii with their families for a vacation. While experiencing the beautiful Hawaiian traditions and culture the found themselves on the north shore of Oahu indulging in the best frozen treat of their lives. Being Santa Cruz natives for generations, immediately thought "we need to bring this home." This is our makana (gift) to you. Shave ice traces its history to Japan, where it is known as kakigori. After the Japanese immigrated to Hawaii they brought their traditional dessert with them. Shaving from large blocks of ice using Japanese swords which were typically family heirlooms. Although it can resemble a snow cone it is not. Shave ice is literally shaved from a block of ice and appears snow like. This texture allows the syrups to be absorbed by the ice, rather than simply surrounding it, therefore shave ice is served with spoon. It is truly light, fluffy and delicious.

really cheap for such high durable long lasting quality using different color inks. I think its because they mass produce for a lot of customers is why how they can deliver good lasting quality that is environmental friendly without compromising durability. was great. but light colors or light color letters on dark background has not been best looking unless if its white on black and not light blue on black.
