About Belt Buckles

Sold by

Color: Pewter

Wear your self-expression with this custom rectangular belt buckle. Printed in full, vibrant color and finished with a UV resistant and waterproof coating, your image will display beautifully against this burnished silver belt buckle for years to come. This belt buckle arrives in a black felt bag that is perfect for gifting.

Note on wearing of buckle: as is seen in the product photos, from the wearer's perspective, with the buckle facing outwards so that onlookers can see the design, the belt loop that attaches to the belt is on the right side of the buckle. This means that in order to keep a design right-side-up, the belt will need to be worn around the waist with the belt threaded starting from the right side of the body, which is typically how women's belts are worn. Men's belts are typically worn threaded around the waist staring on the left-hand side (again from the wearer's perspective, with the buckle facing outwards), so please keep this in mind with designing or purchasing a belt buckle.

  • Made in the USA.
  • UV Resistant and waterproof.
  • Add photos, artwork and text.
  • Size: 3" x 2".

About This Design

Santa's Own - 1st Polar Airlift Squadron Belt Buckle

Santa's Own - 1st Polar Airlift Squadron Belt Buckle

The unit insignia of the mythical 1st Polar Airlift Squadron to which are assigned Santa's eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen. A reindeer (caribou) appears within a red ring. White text reading, "1ST POLAR AIRLIFT SQUADRON" and the squadron motto, "UNA NOCTA TOTIUS MUNDI" (Latin: The entire world in one night) appears on the ring. Text reading, "Santa's Own" appears below the Reindeer. The First Polar Airlift Squadron (1st PAS) has a long and storied history. Based at the North Pole the 1st PAS is best known for providing airlift for Santa Claus during his annual, global, nocturnal delivery using venerable, reliable air-mobile Reindeer (aka Caribou - Rangifer tarandus) generally deployed in teams of eight. For operations during inclement weather the squadron maintains one Reindeer equipped with a "RUDOLPH" enhanced red navigation lighting system. For heavylift missions at other times of the year the 1st PAS also maintains a fleet of air-mobile Moose (Alces alces).

I'd lost my old Yudansha buckle with the sakura given to me when I earned my black belt in 1955. So, I saw this one with the Kanji on a white background and went for it. The design with the two characters, yawara [juu] and michi [doo] are finely drawn with a classic hand in a tight calligraphy. It's a delightful rendition with no added ornamentation and beautiful in its simplicity

I gave this as a Christmas gift to a very good friend who like me is a Libra. The belt buckle was an excellent size, not too big, clunky or heavy. Light and attractive. Printing was good and seems durable.
