Satellite, Communications Museum, St. Petersburg Photo Print
"Satellite in Russian Communications Museum, St. Petersburg, Russian Federation" by Catherine Sherman.
A Soviet Satellite is on display in the atrium of the Central Museum of Communications, which is named after A.S. Popova - one of the oldest scientific and technical museums in the world, was founded in 1872. The museum is in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. Popova was a great Russian radio pioneer. The museum is housed on Pochtamtskaya Ulitsa ("Post Office Street") in the former palace of Prince Alexander Bezborodko, a prominent statesman in the reign of Catherine the Great. The ballroom in the palace is available for events.
A unique collection of the museum, dedicated to the history of the development of communications, is made up of exhibits on the history of postal, telegraph and telephone communications, radio communications and broadcasting, television, mobile, space and satellite communications.
The collection of museum funds includes the State Collection of Signs of Postal Payment of the Russian Federation invaluable for all philatelists of the world. Among the exhibits presented for viewing, you can see, for example, old roadside letters, and tsarist decrees, and the first radio receiver, A.S. Popov, and the first civil communication satellite "Luch-15".
The museum was opened on 11 September 1872 as the Telegraph Museum. The head of the Telegraph Department of Russia Carl Luders proclaimed the foundation of this museum:
“ …For the purpose of familiarisation of all the telegraph workers and other interested persons with all innovations and improvements in the field of telegraphy, it is proposed to organise a permanent museum in Saint Petersburg, based on objects presented at the Moscow Polytechnic Exhibition… ”
In 1884, the post office branch was added and the museum was transformed into the Postal and Telegraph Museum. By the late 1970s, the museum housed more than 4 million stamps, stamped envelopes, and postcards.
The museum is now a leading institution in its field in the Russian Federation and provides consulting supervision for other telecommunications museums.
During the opening hours of the museum, a public science and technology library is open.

Ordered this as a surprise for my nephew’s first birthday. It came out beautiful! So many joyful tears were she’d when it was unwrapped. Why then did I give this 4 stars? I made three attempts to order this through the app on my iPhone. First time, got all the pics loaded, clicked to resize it and lost everything. I tried again, this time, when I clicked on the “add to cart” button, the button froze and I couldn’t buy it. I nearly gave up. Three days later, I tried one more time and it went through that time. On a positive note, the collage came in record time, arriving the day before the party, though it was scheduled to arrive afterward. Overall, excellent product. High quality, well worth the $$$. Gorgeous!!! Paper quality is superb! Colors are vibrant! Everything is aligned beautifully. Only flaw, the picture had a 2 in scratch directly through the main photo. It’s an obvious scratch, one I was initially very bothered by. The sender had to have seen it and yet, still mailed it as it. I would have asked for a new one had I not needed to gift it the very next day. Otherwise, it’s stunning. I would definitely purchase again.

This is one super nice item! It is a great work of art for my wall. It would make a great framed gift too! The weight of the paper used, being Kodak paper, is spot on perfect! The printing of this fine work of art photo is top notch gallery worthy all the way!

Beautiful! High quality, semi-gloss, nice weight paper. Wonderful Bible verse and just such a lovely watercolor!
BE AWARE: White border around the artwork included in size.
My 8.5x11" print has a 1/2" white border.
The actual artwork is 7.5x10 inches
I had not understood this before; however, it was just as pictured on Zazzle. I had planned on matting, so this will workout perfectly when done! :). High quality, nice weight paper, clear print, good color
