Save the Red Wolf from politicians and hunters. Help protect the North Carolina Red Wolf from extinction. The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission recently passed a resolution requesting that the US Fish and Wildlife Service declare the Red Wolf extinct in the wild and terminate the Red Wolf reintroduction program. They also petitioned to allow hunting coyotes at night, which has led to "accidental" Red Wolf killings. As of March 12, 2015, there are only 57 known wild Red Wolves in existence. Yes, just 57. There are also only about 200 wolves in captivity and zookeepers and geneticists have had some success taking wolf pups born in captivity and re-introducing them to wild females that have pups of their own.
