About This Design
Schiltach Germany Postcard
Schiltach is a quintessential Black Forest village located at the confluence of the Schiltach and Kinzig rivers. It is famous for its impeccably preserved market square and the steep, timber-framed houses that cling to the surrounding hillsides.
The town’s history is rooted in tanning and timber rafting, which is celebrated in its local museums. With the dense, dark green evergreen forests of the Schwarzwald framing the bright white and brown buildings, the visual contrast is striking and deeply peaceful.
