Scotland's Bothwell Castle, Murray Clan T-Shirt

Bothwell Castle, overlooking the River Clyde, is the historic seat of the Murray clan, which descends from Freskin, also father of the Sutherland clan. Freskin was a Flemish nobleman who was given land in northeastern Scotland by King David. The Murrays descend through the younger grandson of Freskin, William de Moravia, or Moray. Bothwell Castle was constructed in the 13th century for its strategic location and switched hands numerous times during the Wars of Scottish Independence in the late 13th and early 14th centuries. The current clan seat is Blair Castle, owned by Bruce Murray, 12th Duke of Atholl, who lives in South Africa.
