About This Design

Scottish Armstrong Clan Gilnockie Painting Tartan Shot Glass

Scottish Armstrong Clan Gilnockie Painting Tartan Shot Glass

Raise a glass to your Scottish heritage and the ferocious Armstrong Clan of the Anglo-Scottish Border. The Armstrongs are associated with two family properties dating from the early 1500s - Mangerton and Gilnockie in Dumfries and Galloway of southwest Scotland. Both have fallen to ruins with only Gilnockie Tower remaining, and that because of a 1978 renovation. Gilnockie was the home of a famous outlaw Border Reiver Johnnie Armstrong. The image here is a painting "Gilnockie Tower in 1530, Dumfriesshire," by Henry Hetherington Emmerson (1831-1895). On this design, the blue, green and red Armstrong tartan plaid, under Crown Copyright and used courtesy of The Scottish Register of Tartans, forms the background for an oval photo of the Emmerson painting. A deep blue band frames the oval and was selected to closely coordinate with the blue in the plaid. In tiny print at the bottom is identification info for the photo -- keep or remove it as you select the options for YOUR design. If your branch of the family spells the name differently, why not hit "personalize" and spell Armstrong however your branch does. "Armstrong Clan" is printed in a bold, all-caps font, and "Gilnockie Tower" in a smaller, but less bold, variety of the font family. The painting title and artist credit are in an unobtrusive font at the design's bottom. All text is in a very faint blue, faded from the photo frame. Bring your ancient Armstrong Scottish family heritage into the modern world and enjoy your ancient Scottish DNA.

I love how these turned out using my image and being able to clear the background, leaving only the outline. Great addition to small Christmas gifts for colleagues. The printing is clear and precise.

I customized these shot glasses as a gift to the wedding party attending my sister and her fiancè's upcoming combination Bachelor/Bachelorette party. I haven't given them to the participants yet but I personally love these shot glasses! They're of good quality and although I haven't used them yet, they seem to be quite durable. I love how the quality of the design on the shot glasses turned out! I was originally going to buy the customized shot glasses elsewhere but I'm glad I didn't because these truly exceeded my expectations. The color that I chose even turned out perfectly. I'm just overall very happy with how these turned out.

I ordered these as party favors for a bachelorette party I’m throwing for a friend and they turned out amazing. Can’t wait to give them to the girls. Everything turned out as expected but it’d be awesome if the lips were actual glitter. They’re not supposed to be but glitter lips would be the ultimate icing on the cake.
