Ferniehirst Castle, of the Kerr Clan of Scotland, is located near Jedburgh in the Scottish borders. It is open to the public. Enjoy your Kerr family heritage sipping your fav beverage from a vessel featuring a photo of the "homeplace" surrounded by a frame of forest green and the family's popular red and green tartan. The castle and clan names are printed are printed across the top of the photo in a dark forest green of the tartan, which is brightened a bit for your name which is to one side in a black box where your tartan would naturally have black. I love this mug, not only because of the design, but the feel of it in hand is just wonderful. Its kinda silky, really a neat feel, not like every other mug I have. Its a little on the small size and I wish they had one bigger, but its a small detraction from an otherwise very cool mug. Printing turned out very clear and even the subtle colors of yellow and light gray were able to be seen.
