Just as the figure in Munch's painting seems overwhelmed by the world around him, many of us feel an intense, almost desperate craving for that initial cup of coffee to jumpstart our day. Through this piece, I wanted to juxtapose classic expressionism with the contemporary love for coffee, conveying both the intensity of our morning rituals and the emotions they evoke.
