Sea Anemone Scientific Nature Ocean Wrapping Paper

Sea Anemone Scientific Nature Ocean Wrapping Paper

This vintage scientific print, created by Ernst Haeckel in 1904, comes from his iconic work Kunstformen der Natur (Art Forms of Nature), specifically from the 49th plate. It depicts a variety of sea anemones, classified as Actiniae, which are water-dwelling animals. Sea anemones, named after the terrestrial anemone flower, are closely related to corals, jellyfish, tube-dwelling anemones, and Hydra. Known for their strikingly colorful and intricate appearance, sea anemones are stinging polyps. They spend most of their time attached to rocks or coral reefs on the ocean floor, where they wait for fish to swim by. The fish become ensnared by the anemone's tentacles, which are used to capture prey. This artwork beautifully blends scientific accuracy with artistic expression, showcasing the fascinating diversity of marine life.

I am making a line of mini (27 inches) 1950's retro dresses. I have used this paper and overlaid it with with Sanwa Tissue paper airbrushed to match. I am pleased with the way it turned out and now have ordered other papers to use in my paper dress collection. The color was solid and well absorbed
