Sea Dragon is a brush painting of a water dragon in traditional Chinese "Gongbi" style with watercolor on rice paper.
In China the calligraphy always belongs to the painting. It’s like the signature from the artist. The bigger characters are always the title of the painting. The smaller calligraphy shows the name of the artist and sometimes where and when the painting was created.
On the picture is written „shui long - bai jie hua yu zhong guo nan jing” what means “Sea Dragon - painted by Bai Jie in Nanjing”
Bai Jie is my Chinese name.

The dragon is deeply rooted in Chinese culture as the supreme auspicious being. And the Chinese in the world often regard themselves as "the descendants of the dragon".
In the ancient China, dragon was the symbol of imperial power and represent the emperor.
Nowadays, it symbolizes power, nobility, honor, luck, success and fortune.
It is also the fifth of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals. The year of the Water dragon was 2012.

The label background stock is an off white/ivory color. I was able to customize my labels with a dark navy background for free to really make the them pop. I love this feature! The process was so easy and I was able to see each edit as I made them with the label viewer. In person the labels were even more beautiful than how they looked online! I'm so pleased with the way the labels came out. They by far exceeded my expectations by how sturdy they are! My mailman even bent the mailing envelope to place in my mailbox and because of the construction of the labels and the excellent packaging by Zazzle there was no damage to my labels and they even arrived sooner than the expected shipping date! The quality of these labels is exquisite! The colors were so much brighter, bolder, and more vivid in person. The image quality was also way above par. You can really see the detail of the flower in the label more so than with drug store or even craft store labels. When ordering these labels I wanted them to stand apart on my wedding invitations and from every detail. From the stamp to the address label to the envelope, I wanted my guests to see the detail. Thank you Zazzle! You really added that extra touch to making my invitations that much more special!
