Sea Dragon Magnet

Sea Dragon is a brush painting of a water dragon in traditional Chinese "Gongbi" style with watercolor on rice paper. In China the calligraphy always belongs to the painting. It’s like the signature from the artist. The bigger characters are always the title of the painting. The smaller calligraphy shows the name of the artist and sometimes where and when the painting was created. On the picture is written „shui long - bai jie hua yu zhong guo nan jing” what means “Sea Dragon - painted by Bai Jie in Nanjing” Bai Jie is my Chinese name. And the Chinese in the world often regard themselves as "the descendants of the dragon". In the ancient China, dragon was the symbol of imperial power and represent the emperor. Nowadays, it symbolizes power, nobility, honor, luck, success and fortune. It is also the fifth of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals. The year of the Water dragon was 2012.
