The Seven Colored Earths of Chamarel is a rare geological phenomenon consisting of sand dunes in seven distinct colors, including a prominent and striking shade of purple. These dunes were formed from the decomposition of volcanic rock into clay, which then cooled at different temperatures to create the variegated hues seen today.
