SHABLAM!
Straight from ballroom culture and vogueing, this move is actually called a 'dip'. A dip is a category of movement. Whether it’s hard and dramatic, or soft and slow, the movement is still a dip. When people do a dip, you hear something that sounds like “shablam” (it's actually 'shawham') either from the person on the mic or the crowd. It's an onomatopoeic cue that goes along with the move; an emphasizing of the crash in the song. Still, shablam! feels more dramatic and has been immortalized in Todrick Hall's 'Haus Party', so we'll just leave it at that.
