This design features a painting by the American artist Milton Avery (1885–1965). It shows a sheep with white wool in profile. Sheep are four-legged ruminant mammals that are often kept as livestock. A sheep's wool is one of the most widely used animal fibers; it is usually harvested by shearing. Sheep can sometimes be symbols of placidity, conventional living and conformity, but the creatures are more intelligent than they appear.
