Snake's eye baby T-Shirt

The name 'janome' (snake's eye) is derived from the pattern resembling a snake's eye, but its original form is a 'tsurumaki' (string wrap) used to wrap spare strings for a bow during battle. It is worn on the left waist, hung from the waist strap of the 'ebira' (quiver) after putting on armor. (According to 'Kamon no Jiten' by Takasawa, etc.) The tsurumaki is a leather or wicker bow accessory used to wrap the bowstring, and is a ring worn by samurai in armor at the waist, resembling a snake's eye.
