Those pictured here are made of Ash and moosehide babiche (webbing) in the Alaskan pattern. Longer and thinner than some other styles, such as the bearpaw, Alaskan snowshoes allow for a more natural gate and are well suited for cross-country travel. The slightly upturned tips allow you to drag your feet a bit. Be advised snowshoes can make for excellent skies; generally at the worst possible moment. Polar bears are endangered.
